Your First Dental Visit

Have regular check-ups with our dentist. Don’t put off going for Your First Dental Visit. Detecting problems early can mean they’re easier to treat.

If problems aren’t treated, they may lead to damage that’s harder, or even impossible, to repair.

Initial Examination

You will get a tooth by tooth thorough examination. Dr Singh checks for cracks in your teeth and dental decay which is starting in your mouth.  The earlier the problems are diagnosed the less you will pay in the future for extensive care.  Urgent problems are treated first then non urgent treatments which can wait.

For gum care we use the Basic Periodontal Examination tool to check your gums.  The hygienist is very gentle and caring.  Many people with sensitve teeth have found her techniques better than else where.

The soft skin in your mouth will also be checked for any tissue lumps and mouth cancer.

Lastly he will examine the mobility and clicking problems of your jaw joints to offer you solutions to correct any problems noticed.

At Your First Dental Visit

Dr Singh or the therapist use bitewings x-rays to look for problems under your old fillings and crowns and the health of the bone around the teeth. We only take them if there is cause for concern. They follow the British Dental Association guidelines.

A total care approach at your first dental visit

Your plan will identify the following areas of treatment at Your First Dental Visit:

Is recommended to be completed as soon as possible and is aimed to halt decay and gum disease as soon as possible, and to stop the progression of other developing problems.

Short Term Treatments

Aims to build on this improved health and is typically aimed at early functional improvements for your teeth such as replacing defective fillings and ensuring gum health remains consistent. Cosmetic Care will usually fall into this category, however as Cosmetic Dental Care is sometimes “optional” it could be delayed into the long-term treatment category.

Long-term Treatment

Aims to continue the first two steps and deliver healthy and strong teeth for life. Treatment would include keeping existing dental care up-to-date and healthy and strengthening teeth with crowns, replacing missing teeth with dental implants and keeping your smile looking nice and healthy.

Gum-Disease-Health-Lasers

Receding Gums is due to bone loss, there is a retraction of the gums because they lose their support underneath from the bone. When the gums start to be infected by bad bacteria then the good bacteria have got no chance of winning, until you have our treatment.

“I am delighted with the treatment for my gum disease.  The care I have received so far from Dr Singh was fantastic.  He used lasers to get rid of my gum disease.  My gums have feel tighter and better and do not bleed any more with the treatment.”

Kerry Anne

If periodontal disease is left untreated it may lead to your teeth being pulled out, because the teeth do not have enough bone support. To save your teeth you need to come and see us for treatment using lasers.

Since periodontitis is painless most of the patients simply ignore the fact that they have the disease until it is too late.

We will give back your confidence by saving your teeth. We offer this modern laser treatment – an effective alternative to the traditional method of surgically treating periodontal disease. The benefits of our unique laser treatment include:

  • So far, 99% of our patients who have completed the prescribed treatment, have been successful.
  • We can save teeth with 50% bone loss which usually would have to be extracted.
  • In the majority of cases, the process is found to be completely painless
  • It’s a long term result which is easy to maintain.
  • You will have beautiful healthy teeth and fresh breath again allowing you to socialize with confidence.

How Our Laser Treatment Will Save You Money in the Long Term

Our policy at Eternal Smiles Dental Centre is to save the teeth you have by treating the gums that have become infected and strengthening the bone tissue in the mouth.

If you have been diagnosed with periodontal disease and choose to leave your mouth untreated, losing your teeth will be very likely.

When this happens, replacing your natural teeth with implants and dentures will be substantially more expensive than embarking on this treatment whilst your teeth can still be saved.

There are now scientific innovations that effectively treat Periodontal Disease which we use in our practice.

Smile Health

There are several reasons to smile. Smiling makes you attractive. People are generally drawn to those who smile. There is an attraction factor. Smiling changes your mood

Next time you are feeling down, try putting on a smile. There’s a good chance you mood will change for the better.

When you smile, immune system works better because you are more relaxed. Smiling also relieves stress and prevents you from looking tired, worn down, and overwhelmed. When you are stressed, take time to put on a smile. The stress should be reduced and you’ll be better able to take action.

When you smile, there is a measurable reduction in your blood pressure. Smiling lifts the face and makes you look younger. Smiling people appear more confident, are more likely to be promoted, and more likely to be approached. Put on a smile at parties, meetings and people will react to you positively.

Smile is a very important and an atractive part of our life. Following are the ways that helps you in improving your smile.

Brush your teeth properly:

Make sure you give your teeth the time necessary to keep bacteria and plaque away and it is approximately two minutes.  Proper time to brushing does clean your teeth but also make your gums healthy.

Avoid snacking:

Snacks that are high in sugar and carbs are worse as they can attack your teeth using the acid for as long as 20 minutes.  If you eat snacks then brush soon afterwards.

Drink plenty water:

The most prominent feature when it comes to your overall health is always about water. Water will ensure your body has plenty fluid and doesn’t suffer from internal dehydration allowing your skin and lips to look smooth and sensational. Also, by drinking lots of water, you’ll prevent getting bad breath.

Straight teeth:

Straight teeth play an important part in your smile but If you haven’t got straight teeth, do your best to get some by seeing Dr Singh the braces dentist.

A more faster approach is cosmetic dentistry but it is more expensive. There are a growing number of procedures available for you to acquire a set of perfectly aligned pearly whites.

Orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry are growing professions and the technology is keeping up with consumer demand.

Dr Singh is a cosmetic dentist utilizing the latest techniques such as bonding, porcelain veneers and crowns to close gaps between teeth, repair chipped, worn or broken teeth, reposition crowded teeth, recontour gums, lengthen or shorten uneven teeth and rejuvenate your smile. Ask Dr Singh about the best way for you to achieve your most beautiful smile.

Whiten up your teeth:

There are literally hundreds of products out there that can help you whiten your teeth. You can also have your teeth expertly whitened with professional treatments that usually entail a hydrogen peroxide solution, which is applied to your teeth and activated by a high-intensity light or laser.

Natural tooth color is also genetic, and some people are simply born with brighter enamel. If you are not satisfied with the results of your tooth whitening, ask Dr Singh the cosmetic dentist about using veneers to brighten your beautiful smile.

Sonicare Toothbrush:

Rotating brushs are easily avaiable in markets and can be used by all who are over three years of age.  It gives your teeth a healthy and clean look and we specially recommend this for those who have irregular teeth because irregular teeth have more chance of staining therefore rotating type of brushs are strongly recommended to those who have irregular teeth.

Live a healthy life style:

If you are happy inside then it will also reflect outside.A beautiful smile includes a healthy diet. There is no substitute for a balanced, nutritional diet. Eat a variety of healthy foods from the five major food groups; limit foods that are high in sugar; and be aware of not just what you eat, but when you eat it. If you must have sweets, try to eat them along with your meal when ample saliva can help fight bacteria and wash food particles away.
